Gordon Fry is the President of J.G. Rock and oversees the company’s growth and all of the staff and operations. He and brother Alan implement long-term growth strategies and handle day-to-day responsibilities of keeping a multi-faceted development and construction company running smoothly.

With over 38 years experience in earthmoving, construction, materials management, and aptitude in construction equipment technologies, Gordon has virtually “done it all”. His engineering skills and practical application background makes him ideally suited to manage many of the construction related activities and personnel of the firm.

Gordon served as Music Coordinator of Wheatland Salem Church from 1997 until 2002. While in that position, he planned and oversaw the installation of over $200,000 of audio visual equipment. That experience gives him great insight into planning public, corporate and worship facilities and the appropriate tech-related components of their design.

Gordon has served on the Fry Family Center YMCA board since the facility opened 10 years ago, serving a Chairman of the Board for two years. Gordon is Immediate Past Chairman of the Heritage YMCA Association Board and has been involved in several of projects for the YMCA including using his expertise in construction to help alleviate water detention problems and coordinate the clearing of tons of debris on property next to the YMCA. He was awarded the Volunteer of the Year Award of the Heritage YMCA group in 1999 and the Arlo Schilling Leadership Award in 2008. He currently is an active member of Calvary Church in Naperville, where he is a member of both the choir and the Worship Team.

With all of his responsibilities to the family business, the YMCA and his church, Gordon has managed to become a licensed commercial, instrument rated, pilot, and a certified flight instructor of instrument and airplane, and has accumulated well over 2,500 hours of flight time.

Gordon lives in Naperville and has been married to Debra since 1978. The couple has four children and four grandchildren.
