Projects: Commercial | Worship | Education | Community projects

Knox Presbyterian Church, Naperville

“Doing this extensive a project while we were in occupancy of the church took a high degree of coordination. J. G. Rock was committed to the execution of a timetable that ensured we got into completed portions of the project when we needed to. They were very instructive in helping us understand what to anticipate logistically and financially throughout the project, which allowed us to plan a budget and timeline that worked. What has been most valuable is their willingness and ability to manage the project to our schedule. They have been great partners.”

This campus renovation began in January 07 and was completed in three phases. Phase I included renovation of the old gym to a Multipurpose Facility, providing worship, conference, social and athletic uses. In addition Phase I included the addition of a Junior High Youth Room and Music Room.

Phase II provided for renovation of the Fellowship Hall and classrooms, as well as office space and a Senior High Youth Room on the lower level.

Phase III completed the project, with a new Commons and Sanctuary seating 572. Some 75% of the new facilities are located on one level, providing much better access and flexibility for the congregation.

East Elevation After
New East elevation shows soaring new Sanctuary, entry, and additional space for classrooms, fellowship, offices and meetings. The new sanctuary seats 572 parishioners.

The new Sanctuary seats over 500, and provides unobstructed views of two large video screens, and soaring space in which to enjoy the impressive pipe organ, centrally situated choir and beautiful stone work and stained glass window.

The redesigned Multi-purpose room serves as additional worship space as well as a sports and activity center.

A new coffee bar graces the central Fellowship Hall off the Narthex.

A wall of doors to the spacious Narthex can be opened to accommodate additional seating for the Sanctuary. The mall-like Narthex provides plenty of room for the congregation to come and go, as well as perfect space for fairs and displays.

Spacious classrooms with full walls, new bathrooms and plenty of sunlight and storage space awaited youngsters after move-in day for the education wing in September.
